The effects of gum disease can be very damaging to your oral health and progressing gum disease can affect your overall health. Periodontal disease is a progressive condition that can be reversed only in its early stages. If it is left to progress to the advanced stage, you may need gum surgery and advanced laser therapy to eradicate the infection and restore your oral health. Patients that are at risk for gum disease need to be especially diligent about brushing and flossing regularly.

Gum Disease Treatment Options

The goal of gum disease treatment is to remove or treat infected tissues so that the bacteria do not spread to the tooth root, jaw bone, and other parts of the body. We can determine the extent of damage with digital x-rays during your oral evaluation.
